About Our Piano Lessons In Nashville

Piano Teaching Style

The Philadelphia Piano Institute helps you become an independent musician with instruction tailored specifically to your goals and needs  - we don’t simply teach you songs by rote or follow a strict curriculum. We will teach you how to read music fluently, how to play by ear, how to use proper technique at the keyboard, and how to understand the music theory behind the music you are learning.

Firstly, we’ll talk with you to understand your goals. Do you want to focus on your practical playing (sight reading, ear playing, a particular genre, etc), get serious about your classical repertoire, or start completely from scratch? Next, we’ll rely on our deep knowledge of piano literature and methods to assemble the right material for your lessons. We don’t rely on methods (like Faber), but we do incorporate them into lessons when appropriate.

Then, we teach you how to practice - efficient daily practice is the most important element of learning the piano. Lastly, we will adjust our learning plan and materials as you improve; it’s an ongoing process, and we take a dynamic approach to teaching the piano.

Genres We Work With

While we focus on the classical style in our lessons (it provides the most comprehensive and fundamentally sound approach to learning), we would love to help you improve your jazz, rock, pop, Broadway, and other playing. Everything we work on in lessons is applicable to multiple genres, and if there is a genre you’d like to pursue, please just let us know.

About Our Experienced Piano Teachers in Nashville

Our piano instructors have advanced degrees, supervised teaching experience, professional teaching experience, and have demonstrated a professional level of piano playing. Furthermore, we’ve successfully worked with students of every age and skill level.

We prioritize continuing education and constantly try to improve our own playing and musical knowledge - we would love to share our experience with you.

Cost & Billing Information

We follow a monthly tuition model, so we technically don’t bill  on a per-lesson basis. However, if you were to break the cost down by lesson, it would come to:

  • 40.00 for 30 minutes

  • 59.00 for 45 minutes

  • 78.00 for 60 minutes

Payment information is covered in detail in our studio policy, which you’ll receive prior to joining the studio.
